Fulfilled Fridays 6 and Link-up

Welcome to Fulfilled Fridays!

A place where we can celebrate and share what makes life great.

This was the last week of summer.

Our summer started early since the girls finished their curriculum at the end of April. We’ve been on break since then.

Over the summer we relaxed, a lot.

The girls spent many days playing outside with the neighborhood kids, ran through the sprinklers a few times, and had a water balloon fight. They enjoyed ice cream, popsicles, and ice cream popsicles. They stayed up late giggling until way past my bed time and even attempted an couple all nighters. Those weren’t too successful. I think the latest they lasted was about 1 am.

Miss Crafty went to camp for the first time while The Inventor and I got to spend a week together–just the two of us. They took at trip for over a week with one set of grandparents, spent extra time with another set, and are going to visit a 3rd grandma for the weekend in about a week.

As the girls grow, I am learning to relish summer more and more. It used to be that summer was just another season, now it is an excuse to make lots of memories.

But Sunday evening will come. The sun will set and rise. It will be Monday morning and time for school.

Instead of being lazy and staying in our PJ’s until lunch we’ll be up, dressed, and ready to go by 8 AM.

Instead of watching movies and Netflix all morning we’ll be watching lesson related videos and opening the books.

Instead of relaxing all day long we’ll be working and learning.

I believe summer is special because it only comes once a year.

So until next May, I say goodbye to summer break and will forever cherish the wonderful memories I made with my daughters.

What are some of your favorite memories from this summer?

Memories…all of them. I especially loved our time at the pool this summer. We have never before lived in town and most of our children are old enough to have a great time and require minimal supervision. Summer went by way too fast!

It did Heather. I’m already missing it. As the girls get older I find I enjoy summer much more. They are able to do more things and I know they’re making memories that will stay with them for life. Somehow, that makes each thing we do more precious.

we started school August 4 so summer is “over” though temperature wise it doesn’t feel like it! I find is so hard to tell the kids to do get their homework done before getting in the pool these days!

This summer was a blast! Our funnest time was berry-picking I think. We start school September 1, so we’re still squeezing summer in 🙂
