Fulfilled Fridays 3 and Link-up

Welcome to Fulfilled Fridays!

A place where we can celebrate and share what makes life great.

I have been on my own little staycation this week!

Two weeks ago Miss Crafty was gone to camp and I was blessed to have some alone time with The Inventor. This week they are both gone visiting some grandparents.

That’s right, both the children are gone and The Husband is away at work all day. For a stay-at-home/school-at-home mom, this is priceless. I don’t get that me-time when they are at school. They are with me nearly every moment of every single day.

[Tweet “To have an entire week to myself has been the vacation I’ve needed.”]

I’ve had ice cream every day this week.

I’ve marathoned the entire first season of The Tudors on Netflix.

I pick up the house and ‘gasp’ it stays clean!

We put our mattress in the living room so we could sleep closer to the AC.

I only do 1 dry rack of dishes a day instead of 3. Seriously, how can 2 kids go through a load of dishes a piece every day? (no dishwasher here, I hand wash everything)

I will wash 3 loads of laundry this weekend instead of 5-7. Again, how can an 8 and 10 year old go through so many clothes and towels in one week?

Above all, I am grateful to the girls’ grandparents. Not just these ones, but all of them. Each one loves my children unconditionally, with no expectations, and enjoys spending time (and spoiling) them. They have very special relationships with my girls that will impact them forever.

That is truly priceless and my entire family is blessed because of it.

I no longer have little ones at home, but still find it hard to have those “alone times” that are so precious. Thanks for sharing!

I just linked up! Thanks for the great link party. And by the way, I too love marathon watching (or as I like to say, binge watching) my favorite shows on the rare occasion that I have an empty house 🙂

Yes. I have a hard time watching regular TV now because I enjoy marathon watching so much. I want to know the resolution to that cliff hanger not, and not have to wait until next week (or next season). Netflix has spoiled me.

I so enjoy our children’s time with their grandparents. I always find it interesting how the dynamics of the house change when just one of the kids is gone. The past three years, because we had been homeschooling everyone, we gave each of the kids their own week during the regular school year to be at their grandparents’ homes. They did have to take their work with them, but made some great memories each time. Enjoy every second!

That is special to send them alone Heather. I bet everyone enjoyed having some one on one time with their grandparents. The girls come home today but I sure did enjoy my alone time.

Sounds like a great week! I’ll have to check out that series on Netflix. We’re always looking for good ones!

Marie, it is good. It is rated TVMA and there is some nudity in it (women’s chests). It doesn’t overwhelm the show but I do like to warn people because I know it bothers some more than others. There is also some language. It shows a few executions during the medieval era–so beheading, burning at the stake, boiling alive. They don’t show the actual death but proceeding events and the start of it.
